Join us to experience the works of Detroit's own Lebanese-American Artist Adnan Charara as he reflects on war and a life far removed from it.  From a time when disasters were localized and not deeply disseminated, to the global reach of social media, only an ostrich with its head in the sand can avoid news of wars that pummel our planet. In in his own words - "Wholesale death, destruction, and displacement for mass consumption designed to keep us insulated from the effects, yet in practical terms, these travesties might as well be occurring on another planet.   This body of work interrogates my personal "luck" and passive culpability in other peoples' tragedies as a passport and shield of privilege, but I can never forget that I am always "six-degrees of devastation" from someone not as fortunate.     Please join us as we ask ourselves who we are as individuals and as part of the human collective.
